About the Patek Philippe 5212A-001
The Patek Philippe Calatrava Weekly Calendar 5212A-001 debuted in 2019 and introduced a weekly calendar display within a stainless-steel Calatrava case, a rare material choice for a Patek Philippe complication.
The watch is housed in a stainless-steel round case measuring 40 mm in diameter with a thickness of 10.79 mm. Water resistance is rated to 30 metres. The case features a two-tier construction with stepped lugs. A sapphire crystal case back is fitted.
The dial is finished in silvery opaline and is distinguished by transfer-printed indications rendered in a handwritten-style typography developed specifically for this model. The display shows the day and week number by hands, the corresponding month, and the date in an aperture. Time is indicated by faceted anthracite white-gold dauphine-style hands, while applied anthracite white-gold “obus”-style hour markers define the hours. A sweep seconds hand is included.
Powering the watch is the self-winding calibre 26-330 S C J SE. The movement measures 27 mm in diameter and 4.82 mm in thickness, comprises 304 components and 50 jewels, and operates at a frequency of 28,800 semi-oscillations per hour (4 Hz). It incorporates the weekly calendar mechanism, displays the day and week number by hands, and provides a power reserve specified between approximately 35 and 45 hours. Winding is via a 21K gold central rotor. The movement features a Gyromax balance, a Spiromax balance spring, and bears the Patek Philippe Seal.
